Solution Templates

We have three solution templates you might consider for organizing your solution paper. Using a template is not required, but might give you a head start on writing up your solution. Read on to find out which one might work for you!

This template is great for participants who opt to use MATLAB in the Challenge. The Live Script template allows you to weave code, numerical expressions, images, hyperlinks directly in with your writing which can help you explain your work.

  • You’ll need to access MATLAB first
  • Includes examples on generating graphs, data visualization and importing data from Excel
  • Easy to convert to a pdf

This .docx file can be used with Microsoft Word or Google Docs (or other word processing applications).

  • Includes tips for what should be included in each section
  • Easy to use
  • Includes helpful reminders about including your team ID and using proper citations

LaTeX is a software system for typesetting documents. There’s a steep learning curve to get started; if you’ve never used it before, you might consider one of the other templates.

  • Must install compiling software or use a program like Overleaf; an internet search will provide more information
  • Mathematical expressions look beautiful
  • Automated numbering of citations and sections
